Strip Club in Athens?

We've all heard the controversial news about a new venue that might be showing up in Athens before we graduate. Some of us have even spoke out if we agree or not, but what is really going to happen if this new venue comes to Athens?  Three Wide Entertainment has been trying to open a strip club in Athens for a few years, including in 2008 when they got so tired of being denied that they a started federal civil-rights lawsuit. But Athenians are coming to their senses, and a majority of the population have voted in favor of Athens housing a strip club.
This photo shows where the strip club
would be located.
The most likely spot that Three Wide Entertainment will be using the lot 11-13 W. Stimson Ave, which is currently a bike and scooter store, as the proposed strip club site. Although the area is near Mill and Palmer street and other businesses including an upscale beer and wine shop, Chinese restaurant and a bank that will more than likely double their sales, the surrounding stores still do not have a liking towards the idea. Most of the store owners in the area would rather have more class in their area than more income in their shops. The bank especially throws me off with not supporting the idea seeing how most people will need to fund up at the ATM's before entering the club. The beer and wine shop also surprises me because since the club will not hold a liquor license and will hold a strict BYOB (Bring Your Own Beer) policy, they will also gain a hefty profit. Seeing both points of view, I can understand that they don't want the surrounding area to go to the slums, but it could also go the opposite way and grow some financial support in the area. Both ways being stated,we're still excited to see a less-stressful change come to the college campus.
